Suffice it to say that a huge emphasis is placed upon on hiring the best and brightest talent; from companies like Facebook and Google, to the mom & pop family business – each need new and hungry employees to remain competitive and to thrive. And the electrical construction industry is no different.
NECA and the IBEW have begun a new initiative of scouring college campuses and universities to find and introduce aspiring young construction students to the benefits of the Powering America team.
In this edition of Electric TV, we highlight the Penn State NECA Student Chapter as they pave the way to a legitimate career in construction immediately after their graduation caps are thrown.
Supported by the Penn-Del-Jersey NECA Chapter and the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of NECA – the Student Chapter at Penn State is thriving. Not only are students recognizing that a career in the electrical industry provides many options, they are getting in front of employers that are looking to hire while still in the classroom. A NECA Student Chapter is a career boost, a networking opportunity, and a chance to make a name for yourself in the industry before you even have the chance to receive your diploma.
The NECA/IBEW Powering America Team is once again at the forefront of excellence and, of course, the next generation of electrical workers – both management and labor – will keep that trend going.
The Powering America team consists of craftsmen and women who are members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and their signatory contractors—including those who are members of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). This team delivers quality products at fair prices and offers commitment and a high standard of craftsmanship.
