Hurricane Irma was a Category 4 and the strongest ever recorded on the Atlantic. Irma was an unparalleled 420 miles wide, hitting the entire state of Florida and more. 6.8 million people were without power. Enter the NECA/IBEW Powering America Team – the “other” first responders.
As the team prepared on the East Coast, Irma decided to make her entrance on the West Coast – changing the strategic plan of attack that the Powering America Team had in place. But they weren’t stalled for long. As we all know, the NECA/IBEW Powering America Team does not sit idle for long – in no time they had a new plan of attack and got to work. First, transmission and distribution – line work that gets power back to people. Second – inside work, anything from large commercial jobs to small and local wiring.
Sometimes – it is only when the power goes out that you realize the power of power. Thank you to the dedicated men and women of the NECA/IBEW Powering America Team for your hard work and for bringing power back to those impacted by Hurricane Irma.
