Milwaukee, WI has long lived in the shadow of the neighboring Chicago skyline…that was until the headquarters for Northwestern Mutual, right in the heart of the city, began construction.

The project will soon be completed, essentially transforming the skyline (both literally and figuratively) for a new generation. Upon completion, this glass skyscraper will be the second tallest building in the state and the single biggest in terms of square footage.

As with the construction of any modern mega-project – HVAC controls, cable installation, underground wiring, and lighting control systems – customers, contractors and developers continue to hire the Powering America Team to insure a quality process and a professional result.

Who better to work on this high-profile commercial electrical project than the Powering America, NECA-IBEW team?

Many attributes distinguish the Powering America team, but a major one is the ‘Code of Excellence’; an agreement between labor and the contractor that all aspects of the project will be upheld to the highest standard. So inspiring was the code, that the other trades adopted their own version leading to the entire project being done under a new ‘Code of Distinction’, the first ever of its kind.

IBEW Local 494, along with NECA Contractors Staff Electric, Hurt Electric, Dairyland Energy Solutions are all collaborating currently and are on-schedule to open at the end of 2017.

The Powering America team consists of craftsmen who are members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and their signatory contractors—including those who are members of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). This team delivers quality products at fair prices and offers commitment and a high standard of craftsmanship.
