Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an XML-based format for content distribution, and can be used in news readers and blogs. The feed provided by Electric TV includes headlines, summaries, thumbnail images, and links back to ElectricTV.com for each new video posted. RSS feeds are free and ElectricTV.com currently uses RSS 2.0.

There are a number of ways to access RSS feeds. You can install a news reader that displays RSS feeds from the Web sites you select, enabling you to view hundreds of headlines at once. After installing the news reader, you can add each feed manually from the Web site by clicking on the "Subscribe" or the "XML" orange button next to the feed.

An alternative to downloading a dedicated news reader is to use a Web-based news reader. For example, My Yahoo! or My AOL users can now add RSS feeds directly to their personal page. Users with a Google Account can add RSS feeds directly to their google homepage or use google Reader.

Since RSS is a code standard for the syndication of content to be rendered and viewed through other means, it is not often useful to view the feed directly. It is simply a formatted XML file. However, the URL of the feed is the location that you would add to any reader in order to view ETV News.
